Integral Care provides community-based behavioral health (mental health and substance use) and developmental disability services to adults and children in Travis County often in dire need of care and often have a single or combined diagnosis of developmental disabilities, persistent mental illnesses, and chemical dependency. A comprehensive array of services is delivered through the following service areas: Adult Behavioral Health, Child and Family, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, and Psychiatric Crisis Services. ST. DAVID'S FOUNDATIONThe vision of St. David’s Foundation is to keep the promise of a better life by improving health and health care for all Central Texans. AUSTIN/TRAVIS COUNTY EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES (EMS)The Austin-Travis County EMS Department is the primary provider for medical rescue within the City of Austin and Travis County. The Department is jointly funded by the City of Austin (70%) and Travis County (30%). The City of Austin is the managing partner of this funding consortium. A/TCEMS is supported in its operation by 18 first response agencies and 16 corporate first response teams. Medical Direction is through a full-time EMS physician who oversees the Austin-Travis County EMS System clinical alliance consisting of 38 different emergency service agencies. PROJECT ACCESSThe Travis County Medical Society, working with the Integrated Care Collaboration, has initiated PROJECT ACCESS, a coordinated system of volunteer physician care, hospital care, diagnostic services and medications assistance for the low-income, uninsured of Travis County. As of August 2006, 870 participating physician volunteers of Project Access continue to provide access to health care for low-income uninsured patients along with program partners such as the Seton Family of Hospitals, St. David's Healthcare, the Heart Hospital of Austin, Austin Radiological Association, Clinical Pathology Labs, Inc., and Austin Health Imaging. Since commencing operations in early 2003, Project Access has enrolled 1375 patients, provided over 6,600 patient encounters, resulting in over $5.2 million in donated care. VOLUNTEER HEALTHCARE CLINICThe Volunteer Healthcare Clinic (VHC) is a medical safety net for children and adults in Travis County who are low-income and uninsured. The Clinic provides primary medical care for acute and chronic conditions along with related services including medication assistance, lab & imaging testing, referrals to medical specialists, social service referrals and case management. Acute/primary care clinics are held on a walk-in basis for the general public* on Tuesday and Thursday evenings beginning at 6pm. VHC has a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) clinic for patients suffering from diabetes, hypertension and endocrine disorders on Monday evenings at 6pm.
